Creating beautiful hotels that add value to the locations in which they are situated, taking care of our very special guests and above all, working with our excellent and dedicated team every single day fills me with so much energy. We are passionate about building a strong company with a unique DNA which is reflected in our core values. The story has just begun…!
The Team: Nice people to get to know...
If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the people to gather wood, divide the work, and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea. Antoine De Saint-Exupery, author of The Little Prince
Our team values are based on our core values judgement, communication, impact, curiosity, innovation, courage, passion, honesty and selflessness.
Schooled as a building engineer, I’ve worked for 30 years in the contracting business. As my motto is ‘live your dream,’ I choose to continue my career in the exciting world of hospitality. I love connecting people and bringing up the best performance out of every team. It is a true pleasure to create unique stories to make fairytale hotels for clients all over Europe.
I love hotels because hotels will put smiles on the faces of our guests. It is an enjoyable setting to work in and to be able to contribute to the guest experiences. In the past, I have been working as a financial auditor/consultant and (interim) CFO within the hospitality industry. Once I was asked to join Odyssey Hotel Group, it did not take long to decide, and I have not regretted it for one moment. That’s why my motto is: “You have got to love what you do, to really make things happen.”
Working for OHG gives me a lot of energy because it is a fast-growing and exciting company. The freedom I feel helps me in the best possible way. It makes myself and my team enthusiastic to try to improve and get the best possible results.
As project manager C&D with OHG I am working on all of our new hotel projects in the field of construction and design. I work closely with investors, constructors, (interior) architects, brand representatives, our operational team and other people that I come across on the path to opening our new hotels.
I worked for 20 years as a lawyer for both small and medium-sized businesses as well as a major nonprofit organization in the Netherlands. I love being a part of this fast growing and exciting company. My motto: Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet – Stephen Hawking
I love my job because of having a very close affinity to hospitality in general and to hotels in particular since my youth! My experience combined with the perfect support of the team and the culture of Odyssey drives me to create and develop Odyssey hotels from the first offer of a plot of land, setting up and signing the needed contracts with the developer / investor up to the opening of the new hotel.
I love hotels because each one is unique in its own way. The challenges leading up to the opening, the organized chaos of delivery and installation, the opening and then the operation. I love being involved in all aspects and working with dedicated people who are all specialists and have the experience needed to make it all work. In 1999, I was looking for a new challenge that combined hospitality and business, and I haven’t looked back since. My favorite quote: “I’m a jack of all trades, but master of none”.
I just love the ambiance and details inside and around greatly designed hotels, especially when I have had the privilige of being involved in the project. My motto is: “The best way to cheer yourself up, is to cheer someone else up.”
After working together for a number of years with the Odyssey Hotel Group, I recently joined the Odyssey Hotel Group. Responsible for ICT. No experience in the hotel world, but the bits and bytes are the same everywhere. Beautiful people and beautiful products. A group where I feel at home. My motto: A mind is like a parachute.
I went as a Hotel school Management Trainee to China in 2007 and came back to Europe 9 years later with experiences as Revenue Management professional for Marriott International in all major Chinese markets. In the past years I have been working in the Marriott franchise world, driving commercial success and positioning the Moxy brand. My motto: “Be the type of person you want to meet.”
I have a BBA specialized in Tourism, Events and Hospitality. My career started in Leading Hotels of the World 5-star property de l’Europe in Amsterdam. After stepping out of the Hospitality Business to gain more experience in HR, I am now back in the vibrant business I love the most. My moto: “If nothing goes right, go left.”
I got the opportunity to grow within OHG and now, as a Project Coordinator I love streamlining all the different projects. By not giving up, going the extra mile and by reinventing, we will get there.
I never thought that I would work in the Hotel industry until the GSO/GSA Marriott Benelux gave me the opportunity to start with the Hotel Excellence project. After getting to know the work hard play hard mentality, I decided to never leave the hotel industry. I am proud of being part of the Odyssey family and excited to be involved with all the open and soon to be opened hotels. My motto: ‘Add a little confetti to each day!’.
Dirk left Schloss Rheinhartshausen by Kempinski and joined OHG. He is responsible for all the technical issues of the OHG hotels in Germany. His favorite quote… Plug it in!
I started working in the hospitality industry and never left. I love the energy and vibe you get in this fantastic branch, the dynamic surrounding, all the great people who are working hard together day in day out with one common goal: exceeding guest expectations and achieving the best results!
To create a creative and marketing concept I like to be involved in a project right from the beginning. I’m passionate, structured and pragmatic and combine this with strong communication skills and an open personality. My favorite quote: “Logic wil get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere”
I always loved the process of opening a hotel with all the organization and creativity behind it. You also always learn something new every day and in the end can put a personal stamp on the hotel. The rest of your life you will always look back at those hotels, knowing you had a crucial part in bringing them to life.
After being promoted to regional coordinator of Allsun Hotels entertainment on the Canary Islands and being responsible for the content management of Allsun Hotels, I became Captain in the Moxy Hotel in Düsseldorf. Since November 1st, 2021, I have become Operations Manager Select Service Hotels for the Odyssey Moxy and Residence Inn Hotels.
I am thrilled to be Operations Manager for the Autograph Collection Brand. Hospitality is my passion! I feel privileged to work with my dynamic and enthusiastic team to consistently try and exceed our guests expectations. To see my teams and guests happy is what makes me truly happy. “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”. – Ghandi
I started my career in the hospitality with an event management apprenticeship at the Frankfurt Marriott Hotel. Joined the Heidelberg Marriott at the event management and in 2019 I found my happy place in the Odyssey family by taking care of the sales management for our Moxy Hotels. “A soul of hospitality and a heart of humanity is a house of love, peace, freedom, liberty and justice’.– that’s the reason for my hotel management studies alongside my job.
Started my hotel career back in 2010. Successfully completed an apprenticeship, followed by a bachelor’s degree in hotel management and several positions within Odyssey from Reservation Agent to Revenue Manager since 2021. Work Motto influenced by my literally oldest colleague “be happy of being there for others” which fits 1:1 to our industry.
Hospitality is family. Creating a home away from home, being a host, and filling hotels with life is what I like to do most. For the better half of my life, I have worked now in the hotel industry. After an apprenticeship at the Kastens Hotel Luisenhof and obtaining my BBA in hospitality management in the Netherlands and South Africa, I joined the field of revenue management at Marriott International and currently taking care of the total hotel revenues of 11 hotels of the Odyssey portfolio with my team.
I joined the Odyssey family for the pre opening of the Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam North Riverside. After a year we opened the HIEX Almere as well. Hotel openings have something magic and unpredictable, same as the dynamics of hospitality. When I had the opportunity to grow within Odyssey I was very exited and challenged. There is always an opportunity to grow; personal and professional.
Working in hospitality means for me creating unique experiences! Working for Odyssey means to me working in an environment that grows and therefore creates opportunity for the team to grow with it. The passion and enthusiasm of our people and the love for hotels that you experience in the company fills me with excitement every day.
I spent half of my life traveling and changing scenery. I learned to come home to places where my suitcase showed the way; living like that really grows on you. This business never stops to impress and cheer people up.
“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get…..!” – Forrest Gump.”
As a little kid my father would take me to many hotels when on vacation. Not to sleep there, but just to experience. Walk in and feel, let yourself be inspired. 8-year old me was annoyed, but now I am passionate to create these inspiring environments. There are enough boring places in the world, let’s make some magic instead.
I have worked as legal counsel within an international environment for the past 20 years. My values and dreams along with my passion and enthusiasm have brought me to Odyssey where I am delighted to be part of their team under the motto “People with passion can change the world – Steve Jobs”
